First and foremost, we had to understand all the rules and details of the game ourselves. Additionally, we had to make it into a fun numbers game with an exciting design meant to captivate both children and adults. In the game players can play against people they know, or totally random opponents, therefore, the game server needed to handle thousands of users simultaneously.
MathRumble is a fun and fast-paced numbers game where you can challenge your friends, your family, your colleagues, or even a random opponent that could be from anywhere in the world.
The server service was created in Drupal and Objective-C. We made it possible for players to invite friends directly through the app by connecting to Twitter or Facebook. In addition, we developed the game in three difficulty levels so both children and adults could be challenged for hours on end. Both the free and premium versions are available. We advised the client on how to promote the free version, as well as what additional features to include in the premium version.
The game is now available in the App Store, and for a while it had attracted the interest of many countries from around the world. MathRumble has made it possible to actually have fun while learning math. The premium version gives players a practice mode, allows players to follow their stats, and has no ads.
MathRumble was planned and developed from scratch by imangu. The below methodologies were involved in developing this project over a course of 3 month.
