Challenge
Largely due to the immense popularity of the Danish author H.C. Andersen (1805-1875), Visit Fyn has a special branch dedicated to attracting Chinese tourists. Because of imangu’s expertise in Chinese e-commerce, Visit Fyn contacted us with the goal of developing a new Chinese website, purposed on branding Fyn as an exciting tourist site for Chinese travelers. Their vision was to use the popularity of H.C. Andersen to create buzz about Fyn, its cities and attractions. Furthermore, Visit Fyn needed a partner who could advice on how e-commerce and marketing is best conducted in China, and on how to smooth out bureaucratic hurdles.
Solution
imangu suggested to develop a webpage based on a locally hosted Drupal CMS (Content Management System) to gain optimal availability in China. Since most Chinese people access the internet through their mobile phones, we also suggested to develop the website in a fully responsive design, focusing specifically on optimization for mobile screens. In praxis, this means that the webpage looks beautiful on all screen types. Based on our experience with the Chinese market we also suggested to integrate the webpage with the most used Chinese social media platforms and offered to do both SEM (Search Engine Marketing) and SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Visit Fyn’s Chinese webpage is an incredibly beautiful site where the magic of H.C. Andersen’s fairy tales frames a story about Fyn, that speaks to the heart and soul of the potential Chinese tourist. The Website is indexed and optimized on Baidu (Chinese counterpart to Google), and imangu has handled all bureaucratic hurdles, hereunder the ICP (Internet Content Provider) registration required for all webpages in China.
